Family and friends were treated to an array of holiday favorites as the Central Beginner Band and Concert Band, under the direction of Mr. Darryl Ingram, presented their winter concert. The elementary school Beginner Band opened the concert with “Up On the House Top” followed by “Jingle Bells.” Everyone was so impressed with the progress the Beginner Band has made since the Fall Concert. On the flute was Cloey Smith, and clarinetists were Bailee Hamilton, Camryn McCain, Alleigh Mancilla, Chloe Jones, and Crimson McSherdon. On alto sax was Faith Bennet with Rockie Sugg on tenor sax. The trumpeters were Ayden Gardin, Parker Tidwell and Aliyah Adams. Playing the trombone were Mason Stokes and Jordyn Gray. Percussionists were Ryan Bishop, McKinely Tinney and JJ Judkins.
The audience was then treated to the “Chipmunk Song,” “Blue Christmas,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” and “Sleigh Ride” played by the high school Concert Band. Kamora Wilson and Kaylyn Gould played the flute while Skylar Newman and Abbi Mizzell played the clarinet. Mae Sugg, Tatum Larrabee and Jefferey Yates were on alto sax with Makenna Sanders on tenor sax. The french horn was played by Lukas Lakey, and the trumpeters were Jacob Stevems, Ethyjn Tison and Owen Mathis. On the trombone were Roderick Graham and Arabella Ledford. The baritone was Katie Giffith, accompanied by Michael Thomas on the tuba. Percussionists were Jordan Vilagrana, Neal Hubbart, Jesse Gray, and Rodrigo Xool.
Band director Ingram thanked all the parents and faculty for their support thus far. Shemekia Ross, president of the band boosters, also shared her appreciation for all the hard work of the parents in the concession. We look forward to hearing the sounds of our Pride of Coosa County band during the Spring Concert.
