Madix Corporation, a store fixture manufacturer located in Goodwater, was one of the many presenters at the recent Central College and Career Fair, but they took their exhibit a step further. Central students had the opportunity to compete in a timed task which assessed their skills at completing a task involving shapes within a set time period. First place winner was junior Elisha Hayes, second place winner was senior Mariah Corbin, and third place winner was seventh grader Kaleb Ballard. The top three winners were awarded a hat, shirt and gift card thanks to Madix Corporation. Pictured with the winners is Madix Public Relations Officer Sabrina Wood. Second place winner Mariah Corbin said, “I think it was a good experiment. It showed me that my brain works fast and I can get a job done quickly.” Mariah plans to apply to Madix over Winter Break where she hopes to gain employment working after school and on the weekends while she finishes high school.
