In his book “The Tale of the Tardy Oxcart” Chuck Swindoll relates an incident in his ministry. One afternoon he told his wife that he was going to take a drive because he needed to think and pray about a situation.
So while he was driving he had his Bible open on the steering wheel of his car. He said to the Lord that he was going to read through the whole New Testament until he found the Lord’s mind on that particular situation.
Don’t try this at home or on the road or someone will preach your funeral. Anyway, Swindoll mentioned doing this in one of his sermons. Then at the conclusion of the service a man walked by, handed him his card and said, “If you ever need me just call.” It was a card for a body shop and towing service.
