Coosa County’s newest board member, Jenny Kimbrell, was sworn in at the last board meeting before Thanksgiving break. Mrs. Kimbrell is pictured with her husband, Paul, and their children, Lillie and Wyatt. Kimbrell was elected to represent the people in District 5 after Board Member Gaylen Adams announced she would retire and hence did not seek reelection. The board presented Mrs. Adams with a silver bracelet as a memento of thanks for her years of service on the Coosa County Board of Education. Mrs. Adams has been a board member for six years after previously teaching in the Coosa County school system.
Board officers were also elected, with Tiffany McCain maintaining her seat as board chairperson and Sharon Massie as vice chairperson. Mrs. McCain is pictured with her children, Lauren, Matthew and Camryn.
Congratulations to Mrs. Kimbrell, and we wish the best for Mrs. Adams in her retirement.
