Braxton Lashley, forest ranger technician with the Alabama Forestry Commission and Central graduate of 2017, provided after school program enrichment lessons on wildfire prevention. Braxton’s presentation explained how fire is a natural tool that, if used incorrectly or not at all, can have a negative impact on our forests. Braxton said the most interesting part of the lesson for him was listening to the students’ thoughts on how fire was good or bad. After graduating from Central Braxton attended Central Alabama Community College and is currently a student in the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment at Auburn University pursuing his bachelor’s in forestry.
