Richville Rundown
Sheila Ward
Happy November, and happy birthday to all those celebrating in this month. Three weeks until Thanksgiving; less than 60 days until Christmas and then 2023. Wow, this year has really passed fast, or so it seems.
There was a lot going on last week with the school fall festival, various organizations having trunk-or-treats or festivals during the weekend, then Rockford’s trick-or-treat on Halloween night. All reports have been good crowds and lots of fun.
Elections are this Tuesday, November 8, so don’t forget to go vote. If you don’t vote, then don’t complain about the officials that are elected. Also, if your candidate doesn’t win, then you need to back the person in the office. They’ll need everyone’s support and cooperation.
I encourage everyone to get out and drive around the back roads in our county. They are getting so pretty with the leaves changing. With gas prices, this is a good alternative to going to the mountains!
The Bible passage to share this week is from Isaiah 41:10. It reads, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
This is one of the top verses about strength. This is not about being strong in muscles, but in our mental and spiritual strength. God promises to turn our trials for good. He doesn’t promise to make them go away!
This verse provides us with peace as we rely on His promises. God is strong! Everyone will face situations in our lives that are beyond our strength. So, rely on God to get us through our rough situations.
There are many cases of the flu, as well as COVID-19, in our area. Please be in prayer for them and their families. Continue to keep those who have lost loved ones recently in your prayers. There are several in our community that are not feeling well, so please pray for their healing in God’s will. God knows their names and needs. Until next week, take care and be joyful!
Organizations in the area, as well as churches, I need your events! If your family has some news or an event to share, please contact me. I would prefer text to 334-414-7147 or emails to wardgrand6@gmail.com, but phone calls will be fine, too. If you don’t get me when you call, be sure to leave a message.
