Alice Ramona Johnson Atkisson

 

Memorial service for Mrs. Alice Ramona Johnson Atkisson, 75, of Alexander City, will be Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Wayside Baptist Church. Rev. Larry Cummings will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Wayside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Atkisson passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on March 26, 1947, in Alexander City to Thomas Louis Johnson and Mary Lou Dunson Johnson. She was a devoted member of Wayside Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved playing the piano. She always wanted to spend time with her family and friends, where she loved to cook and entertain for them. She enjoyed antiquing and finding rare and interesting items. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Chris Fomby (Beth), Steve Hay, Alan Meadows (Kelli), all of Alexander City, and Will Meadows of Equality; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Lambert (Robert) of Tallassee and Sali Fries (Bobby) of Millen, Georgia; and brother, Louis Johnson (Bonnie) of Alexander City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Kenneth Hay, Everette Meadows and Paul Atkisson; and grandchild, Kara Hay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wayside Baptist Church; 21 Wayside Circle; Alexander City, AL 35010.

Janice Faye Green

 

Funeral service for Janice Faye Green, 71, of Sylacauga, was Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Tommy Thornton officiating. Burial was in Unity Presbyterian Cemetery in Weogufka.

Ms. Green died Sunday, October 30, 2022, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Green; mother, Virgie Mae Green Scroggins; son, William Kevin Parker; brother, Jimmy Green of New Mexico; brother, Larry Green of Weogufka; and step-father, James Louis Scroggins.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Smith (friend, Peter); grandson, Baylen (Landon) Smith; great-granddaughter on the way, Camille; sister, Pat Green Gaither; brother, Bob (Carolyn) Green; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
