Richville Rundown
Sheila Ward
The trees are really starting to turn even though our weather has not been a reflection of fall temperatures in the last week. I see many photos of fall scenery from different areas. But Coosa County has some beautiful fall scenes, also. So, I encourage you to get out and drive around the roads in our county.
Central Elementary School has a Fall Festival tonight, October 28, from 5:30 to 7:30. There are games planned, as well as several activities, including an auction. Everyone is invited; this is not just for the students.
Also, don’t forget that Rockford will have its annual “trick or treat” along Main Street on Monday, October 31, from 5:30 to 7:30.
Only one more week until the elections on Tuesday, November 8. So far I haven’t heard or seen negative ads and hope that continues. Slinging mud back and forth between candidates is something I can live without.
The Bible passage to share this week is Lamentations 3:22-23. It reads, “Because of the LORD’s faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
God’s mercy is bigger than any of our mistakes; He never gives up on us. These verses give us encouragement that we may not know how God will take care of us, but we can be certain He will. The song “Count Your Blessings!” tells us to count our blessings one by one. Those are the reasons we know we can count on God, because He has before and will continue.
Please be in prayer for Jeff Hardy and his family. He fell off the roof of a house earlier this week and has spine/back issues. It is going to be an extended recovery. His church, Marbury Baptist Church, also needs our prayers.
Continue to keep those who have lost loved ones recently in your prayers. The flu season has begun with many being out of school and work. The hospitals are also seeing an increase in patients. There are several in our community that are not feeling well, so please pray for their healing in God’s will. God knows their names and needs. Until next week, take care and be joyful!
Organizations in the area, as well as churches, I need your events! If your family has some news or an event to share, please contact me. I would prefer text to 334-414-7147 or emails to wardgrand6@gmail.com, but phone calls will be fine, too. If you don’t get me when you call, be sure to leave a message.
