Twelfth grade government students at Central are required to attend at least one public meeting throughout their semester course on American government. Students can choose among town council meetings in Goodwater, Kellyton, or Rockford, as well as Board of Education and County Commission meetings. Students often attend additional meetings beyond the required one. The requirement was relaxed during COVID-19, but we are excited to see the students attending public meetings in the county again. This is the first opportunity our students have had to attend the County Commission meetings; we are very thankful the County Commission added an evening meeting to their monthly agenda.
