Pets of the Week: Clair and Daisy
All the animals are loving the outside this past week, cool enough to sleep in some shade and sunshine to pass the late afternoon. The Bark in the Park at Fort Toulouse last weekend was a fantastic success and super weather; more details on that next week.
We have two adoptable pets of the week to introduce you to this time from the Humane Shelter in Wetumpka. Clair is a shepherd mix at 7 months old and only about 45 pounds, so not a big gal. She was found as a stray and taken to the shelter, but no one ever came to claim her.
Clair is a very sweet dog that LOVES to play and does have some extra energy to channel. The feeding bowls in the kennels get quite a workout after breakfast every morning.
Clair is smart and eager and very willing to please, as well as quite respondent to treats, and of course loves attention. What a perfect young dog for a boy to train as his special companion and grow up with as his best pal. She is waiting to meet you at the shelter and hopes you can share room and family love for her.
Daisy is a 3-month-old female lab/husky mix, chunky and just too cute! She is a great pup and was surrendered to the shelter by her owner.
Daisy is very playful and should be in the 50-pound range when she is fully grown. What a sincere and attentive face she has; is she just right for your family home?
Both dogs are ready to go and looking for that forever loving home. Adoption fees for dogs are still $100, and at that price you get a real bargain. Dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, de-wormed, checked for heartworms, have basic vaccinations and rabies shot if old enough; plus you will get the first exam by your vet included in this fee.
Just call or go online to complete the application, and once approved you can get an appointment date to visit and see all the animals you’d like to see, possibly finding one that chooses you and you’ll take home. The Elmore County Shelter can be reached for information at 334-567-3377.
Until next week, keep those fresh water bowls full and share lots of special time together.
