The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
It’s back! The sinkhole on Jackson Street behind the news’ building is ready and waiting to claim more car suspensions. I thought they fixed it a couple of months ago. They patched it up, but did they really fix the root cause of the problem?
This seems to be a theme with roadwork throughout the county. Patch things together, over and over, without fixing the drainage problems that cause the problems. Maybe they could save money in the long run. It would be nice to know.
We should ask the county commissioner who dropped his truck in a sinkhole on a road in his district. Could it be more cost effective to manage smart, rather than patch the same problems, business as usual?
Y’all know how I feel about litter? Need I say I get depressed seeing so much stuff on the roads and streets. Well, hah, yesterday somebody dropped a dollar bill on the street. Made my day, but I don’t need a dollar. It’ll go to our county’s new animal shelter.
I am proud of the support the shelter has received. Thank you to Dennis and Debbie Hill and all the other staff and board members and all the donors, public and anonymous, for making a dream come true.
Keep dropping dollars, and I’ll be your happy eye in the sky.
Love,
Buzzy
Editor’s note: At press time the Town of Rockford was working to attempt to fix the sinkhole on Jackson Street.
