Richville Rundown
Sheila Ward
Richville Volunteer Fire Department had a great night of bingo. They had a good attendance, and everyone had a fun time.
They are still selling tickets for their Labor Day Boston Butt Sale. They are $35 with pickup on Saturday morning, September 3, from 7 to 9.
Remember, they will only have what they pre-sold available. So get in touch with a member of the fire department and reserve yours. The next bingo will probably be in January. They don’t usually have it during football season.
Union Baptist Church had its fall revival this past week. I don’t have any other church news for this week. If your church is having any special event, please contact me by Monday night so I can get it in my column.
All the churches in our area are holding regular services, so if you don’t have a church there are several in the area to visit. Most have Sunday School at 10 and worship services beginning at 11.
So, the scripture passage for this week is Romans 8:38-39 which reads, “For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
What a wonderful promise. These verses list every imaginable thing that might prevent God’s ability to love those of us in Christ. We might have hardships and persecution, but Paul has included everything past, present and future that can be thought of and promised that those of us who are saved will never be separated from God.
We are saved eternally and forever! No matter what, God forever loves us. These verses are one of the most encouraging for Christians.
Continue to keep those who have lost loved ones recently. There are several in our community that are not feeling well, so please pray for their healing in God’s will. God knows their names and needs. Until next week, take care and be joyful!
Organizations in the area, as well as churches, I need your events! If your family has some news or an event to share, please contact me. I would prefer text to 334-414-7147 or emails to wardgrand6@gmail.com, but phone calls will be fine, too. If you don’t get me when you call, be sure to leave a message.
