Richville Rundown
Sheila Ward
Summer is winding down with school starting in about three weeks. However, the weather is still definitely summertime. Triple digit temperatures or at least the heat index makes it hard to get anything done outside.
Sardis Baptist Church had a good Vacation Bible School from looking at the pictures and comments on Facebook. Everyone seemed to be having a great time.
Providence Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School starting Sunday, July 24, from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. It will end on Thursday, July 28, with family night. The theme is “Spark Studios: Created in Christ, Designed for God’s Purpose.”
If you went to Sardis VBS, come on out to Providence as our themes this year are different. So, different Bible study, crafts and games. Our van will pick up in Rockford at the Discount Food Mart. So be there by 5 p.m. If you need a ride or have a question, please call Brother George at 256-935-0400.
Don’t forget the Coosa County Historical Society will meet on Sunday, July 24, at 2 p.m. at Twenty-Two & Crew (the old drugstore) in Rockford. We plan to show a video that was recorded around Rockford sometime in the 60s. Come out and see if you can identify some of the people.
The scripture passage I want to share this week is Psalm 139:1-5 which says, “LORD, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I stand up; you understand my thoughts from far away. You observe my travels and my rest; you are aware of all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue, you know all about it, LORD. You have encircled me; you have placed Your hand on me.”
What a wonderful promise. God is the all-knowing, ever-present God. He knows everything about us even before we do. No matter where or what we do, we can’t escape from God’s presence. He is everywhere at the same time, all the time. We can’t hide from God!
We might think we do, but He is omnipresent. Whatever we are doing, whether it be obeying God’s Word or not. We can’t hide our deeds. That is a powerful promise.
Continue to keep those who have lost loved ones recently in your prayers. There are several in our community that are not feeling well, so please pray for their healing in God’s will. God knows their names and needs. Until next week, take care and be joyful!
Organizations in the area, as well as churches, I need your events! If your family has some news or an event to share, please contact me. I would prefer text to 334-414-7147 or emails to wardgrand6@gmail.com, but phone calls will be fine, too. If you don’t get me when you call, be sure to leave a message.
