Ruby Lorraine Maxwell

 

A home-going celebration in loving memory of Ruby Lorraine Maxwell with graveside services was held Friday, July 1, 2022, at Elam #2 Baptist Church Cemetery in Kellyton with Rev. Autry Powell Jr. officiating.

Sister Ruby Lorraine Maxwell was born October 6, 1933, to the late Adele and Ruby McGhee in Coosa County. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Jake Maxwell Jr. on June 7, 1952. To this union five children were born.

She professed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a faithful member at Elam #2 Baptist Church until she could no longer attend. Sis. Ruby Lorraine Maxwell departed this life on June 26, 2022, at Russell Medical Center.

She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Clifford Maxwell, Benjamin Maxwell (May), Stanley Maxwell, Wilbur Maxwell, and Dean Maxwell, all of Kellyton; six sisters, Jean Cox (Earl) of Atlanta, Georgia, Joyce Marbury, Doris Smoot, and  Alice Barnes (Sam), all of Kellyton, Sara Fletcher (Tommie) of New York and Cheryl Walker of Michigan; one brother, Edward McGhee of Alexander City; four sisters-in-law, Annie Flowers and Bobbie London, both of Michigan, Ethel Lee Marbury of Birmingham, and M. Lannie Wyckoff of Kellyton; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Final arrangements were entrusted to Holloway Funeral Home of Alexander City.
