Third grade teacher Mrs. Compher shared, “Campers are spending the morning doing reading and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities. These activities are to improve reading and thinking skills. After lunch, campers and teachers ride buses to Poplar Point Camp where activities are provided by different agencies like 4-H, Snap-Ed, Extension Office, and EF-NEP. Campers are learning about healthy eating, exercise and even how to fish. Favorite activities for week three include making and eating ice cream, musical instruments and the parachute. Once a week campers also get to have slip-n-slide and pool time. What a great way to cool off! Summer camp is great!”
