Summer school classes kicked off this week for students in seventh and eighth grade and will continue into next week. Summer school classes for students in ninth-twelfth grade begin June 20. Central High School is excited to offer rising students in grades 10–12 the opportunity to receive workforce skills through the continued partnership with the SAFE Program. The “Pay to Learn” model will be utilized, which means the students who are participating in the program are paid $10 per hour. The program runs through Thursday, June 16, and is run by Central science teacher Jacques Mitchell. Bus transportation is provided for summer programs at specific locations.
