Mrs. Ware and Mrs. Waters lead students during Literacy Camp to strengthen reading skills. In STEM camp students have been learning and applying Bernoulli’s Principle, which is the principle aviation engineers use in designing airplanes.
Sixth grader Grayson Kelly tests his airplane on the runway simulation.
In the afternoon students from both camps ride the bus to Poplar Point Camp for enrichment activities from 4-H and the County Extension Office. Sharon Haynes from the County Extension office has been teaching the students about sun safety, and Pinky and Tom Reichert have been teaching the students archery.
Students also learned about tools scientists use, created fizzy paintings, and enjoyed the slip and slide. The summer learning camps continue throughout the month of June.
