Patricia Ann Brown

 

Funeral service for Mrs. Patricia Ann Brown, 72, of New Site, was Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Jay Burkhalter officiated. Burial followed in the Bethlehem-New Salem Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Russell Medical. She was born on February 20, 1950, in Kellyton to Lumus Lashley and Leola Cannon Lashley. Mrs. Brown loved her family dearly and was a very supportive provider for all. She was a member of Perryville Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown enjoyed cooking, baking, going out to eat, playing bingo, and traveling to the mountains.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Hudson; son, Dewayne Burkhalter; daughter, Jenny Brown; grandchildren, Amber Wilson (Anthony), Blake Hudson (Alana), Alexis Hudson, Alana Kiosky (Michael), Christopher Burkhalter, and Shalyn Burkhalter; five great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Davis; and brothers, Jackie Lashley, Terry Lashley (Diane), Jerry Lashley (Connie), Bobby Lashley (Judy), and Ricky Lashley (Amy).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber Joe Brown; parents; and daughter-in-law, Susan Burkhalter.

William Howard “Chris” Crane

 

Mr. William Howard “Chris” Crane, 80, of Equality, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at his residence. He was born on April 30, 1942, in Fernadina Beach, Florida, to Willie Crane and Tillie Cox Crane. He was an active member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness. He was a skilled welder. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He loved hunting, fishing, painting, and wood working.

He is survived by his wife, Marty Crane of Equality; son, William Howard Crane Jr. (Kristy) of Brewton; daughter, Dee Dee Walker (Mike) of Goodwater; grandchildren, Meadow Walker, Colt Walker, and Madelyn Crane; sisters, Barbara Ivy (Burl) of Houston, Texas, and Ann Seamans (Bob) of Crestview, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Adam Frazier Milam

 

Funeral service for Adam Frazier Milam, 24, of Goodwater, was Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Hollins Church of Christ with Bro. Roy Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Family Cemetery in Hollins.

Mr. Milam died Wednesday, May 18, 2022. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fay and Peggy Milam; great-grandmother, Doris Laney; great-grandmother, Grace Clifton; and aunt, Rita Faye Milam Mullins.

He is survived by his parents, Joe and Pam Milam; sister, Ashley Milam (Colton) Doss; niece, Autumn Doss; grandparents, Fraizer and Charlotte Clifton; aunt, Paula (Jeff) Patterson; cousin, Jackson Patterson; uncle, Mark (Susan) Milam; and cousin, Beau (Amy) Mullins.

David Lee Norrell Sr.

 

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. David Lee Norrell Sr., 48, of New Site, was held Monday, May 23, 2022, at Church of the Highlands (Auburn Campus), with Pastor Kevin Haefner officiating.

Mr. Norrell passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. He was born on May 19, 1974, in Opelika to Manuel Norrell and Judy Bass Norrell. David was a faithful and active member of Church of the Highlands (Opelika Campus). David loved the Lord and was not ashamed to share his faith. He was a lineman and worked for Troy Cable and had worked for Charter Communications. David enjoyed hiking, cutting grass and going to the beach with his family. He had a contagious smile and enjoyed being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Norrell of New Site; daughter, Rebecca Norrell of Alexander City; son, David Lee Norrell Jr. of Alexander City; daughters, Linley Henry and Emma Henry, both of New Site; parents, Manuel and Judy Norrell of Dadeville; sister, Cindy Beatty (Sloan) of Birmingham; brother, Tim Norrell (Kim) of Rockford; nieces, Cariann, Camille, and Jacie; and father-in-law, Larry Michael Rice of Roanoke.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leggon and Mary Bass.

Dorothy Turner

 

Funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Turner, 88, of Goodwater, will be Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Dion Turner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bradford United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 28, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.

Mrs. Turner passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at her daughter’s residence. She was born on January 7, 1934, in Shelby County to Sidney F. Dennis and Jocelyn K. Kimbrell Dennis. She was an active member of Bradford United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She kept an immaculate home and had excellent organizational skills. She was a very health conscience lady.

Mrs. Turner received her college education and started a new career after raising her family. She worked over 30 years for Durbin Chiropractic. In 1987 she was elected president of the Alabama Association of Chiropractic Assistants and was voted CA of the year. Her hobbies included shopping and taking vacations with her family.

She is survived by her son, Tony B. Turner (Lou Ann) of Goodwater; daughter, Bonny T. Mann (Harry) of Alexander City; grandchildren, Josie Forbus, Brandon Turner (Beth), Alex Turner (Joni), April Turner, Barry Mann (Robyn); great-grandchildren, Brooks Turner, Sam Turner, Emily Turner; brother, Floyd Dennis (Marie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Turner; parents; and siblings, Adele Thornton, Shirley Chastain, Lloyd Dennis, Ernie Joe Dennis, and Larry Dennis.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Bradford United Methodist Church; 18794 Highway 9; Goodwater, Al, 35072 or a charity of one’s choice.

Mary Lucy Williams

 

Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Lucy Williams, 82, of Equality and formerly of Jacksons Gap, was Monday, May 23, 2022, at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Dr. Ben Hayes officiated. Burial followed in the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Williams passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Adams Health and Rehab. She was born on September 27, 1939, in North Carolina to Ellis Miles and Betty Brown Miles. Mrs. Williams loved her family dearly. She was a member of First Baptist Church Dadeville. Mrs. Williams was an avid gardener, enjoyed working in the yard, reading, shopping, Lake Martin, the beach, and taking care of her dogs.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Shurum (Mark); grandchildren, Jonathon Shurum, Matthew Shurum (Amy), Robert Lucas (Leslie), and Dustin Lucas; great-grandchildren, Sarah Shurum, Jon Luke Shurum, Lilly Kate Lucas, Lexie Lucas, and Jacob Lucas; sisters, Morene Little, Nora Warren (Fat), Emily Luter, Dorothy Ennis (Jim), and Betty Clary (David); brothers, Ellis “Bo” Miles (Ethel), Charles Russell Miles (Jonnie), and Donald Miles (Rachel); sisters-in-law, Lois Miles and Edna Miles; eight nieces; and fourteen nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alonza Williams; daughter, Debra Lucas; parents; sister, Josie Pruden; and brothers, Wilson Miles, Raymond Miles and Douglas Miles.
