Timothy L. Patterson

Home-going celebration for Elder Timothy L. Patterson was held Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at New Home Baptist Church in Rockford with Pastor Christopher Todd serving as eulogist. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Elder Timothy Lewis Patterson was born on October 19, 1951, in Warren, Ohio, to Elder John Patterson and Beatrice Carson Patterson. He was a member of The Church of the Living God in Columbus, Ohio. He was a man of God and loved his Holy Word. His favorite scriptures were Psalm 8, 23 and 91, and he would find comfort in those scriptures. He was well known for praising God in music.

He was inducted into the Sacred Steel Hall of Fame in 2010 for the steel guitar. He later played for various churches and groups. Until his death, he played the guitar for Holloway and Drake Gospel Group.

He married Frances Shaw in February 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, two sisters, and a brother.

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Timothy peacefully transitioned home to join the heavenly choir.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife, Frances Patterson of Rockford; one brother, Johnny (Jeanette) Patterson of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; three sisters, Betty Tatum and Shirley Patterson of Columbus, Ohio, Karen (Jesse) Williams of Suffolk, Virginia; a granddaughter, Chantell Jennings of Alexander City; grandson, Jertarius Hill of Rockford; two great-grandchildren, Terique and Terique; eight step-children, Annette (John Lewis) Thomas of Georgia, Julius Morgan of Ohio, Beatrice (Eddie) Hunter of Rockford, Constance Morgan, Crystal (Charlie) Thomas, both of Montgomery, Annie (Felton) Lee of Rockford, Ronda (James) Whetstone of Goodwater, and Melody (Robderick) Benson of Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Darlene Love Snead

 

Funeral service for Ms. Darlene Love Snead, 59, of Kellyton, was Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Cowhick officiated. Burial followed in the Hillview Memorial Park.

Ms. Snead passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at her residence. She was born on August 9, 1962, in Montgomery to John Wesley Love and Aliene Grier Love-Word. Darlene was a selfless lady who enjoyed helping others and had a giving soul. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and dressing up.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy L. Meeks; mother, Aliene Love-Word; daughter, Christy L. Johnson (James); sons, Glenn Allen Barrett (Kim), John Gregory Snead (Kayla); grandchildren, Jalyn Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Kelsey Taylor (Chris); great-grandson, Stetson Taylor; siblings Weslene Smith (Frank), William Oakley Love Sr. (Betty), Margenia Love and sister-in-law, Donna Meeks (Larry Tucker).

She was preceded in death by her father.
