Billy Ray Burroughs
Funeral service for Mr. Billy Ray Burroughs, 78, of Kellyton, will be Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Roger Abernathy and Rev. James Heath will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Burroughs passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. He was born on March 12, 1943, in Buhl, Alabama, to William Colvin Burroughs and Willie Klinner Burroughs. Mr. Burroughs loved his family dearly and was lovingly known as “Paw Paw” by his grandchildren. He was a United States Air Force Vietnam Veteran, former deputy sheriff in Tuscaloosa County, and retired from The University of Alabama having served as property manager for Ann Jordan Farms for 20 years. His lifelong passion was being a cattleman on his farm in Coosa County. An avid history buff, Mr. Burroughs also enjoyed reading, watching college football and westerns, and he was a skilled carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cheryl Burroughs; daughter, Fadra Rogers (Chris) of Goodwater; son, Adam Burroughs (Laura) of Goodwater; grandchildren, Zac Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Sarah Rogers, and Colvin Burroughs; sister, Gladys Scarbrough of Buhl; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several sisters and brothers.

William Robert Jemison Jr.
Funeral service for William Robert Jemison Jr., 88, of Sylacauga, was Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Radney-Smith Chapel with Pastor Zach Walker officiating. Burial was in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
Mr. Jemison died Sunday, December 12, 2021, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alma Jemison, and brother, Gary Jemison.
He is survived by his wife of 30 happy years, Sara Jemison; a brother, Dean (Charlene) Jemison; a sister-in-law, Joan Jemison; along with his children, Jennie (Dan) Gunter, Kenny (Tina) Hewitt, Monte Montalto, Kathy (Butch) Douthit, Layne (Bob) Lavett, Shannon (Allen) Lovelady; 7 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Robert and Sara were members of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Cropwell, Alabama, for many years and currently members of Grimes Chapel Baptist Church in Stewartville.
Robert had a long career with Chicago Bridge before opening JemCo with his friend Dave Jordan.
Robert enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His favorite activities were watching his grandchildren play sports and cheering for Alabama Football.

JoAnn Smith
Mrs. JoAnn Smith, 81, of Alexander City, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. She was born on May 19, 1940, in Alexander City to Woodrow Wilson Gray and Iona Brown Gray. She loved to travel with her husband. She loved Auburn football. Above all, she loved her family and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Blair (Gene), Lisa Bishop (Roger), Catherine Bland (Dan), all of Alexander City, and Lori Woodfin (Lantz) of Rockford; son, William W. Smith Jr. (Deborah Matthews) of Prattville; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill” Smith; and great-grandchild, Denah Bishop.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
