There is no better person to have in your life than Jesus.
Nobody loves you more than He does. Nobody can provide what He provides — forgiveness of sin through His death, burial and resurrection, and the way into Heaven.
He’s a constant companion! He’s always there for you! Without Jesus in our lives, we’ll be forever lost. We’ll miss the reason for our existence — worshiping God from a free will.
If you have Him, you have what you need — He’s all I need. He deserves our praise. He’s done so much for us, in so many ways.
We’ve got to get back to praising Jesus. It is vital to our spiritual well being.
Take time out of your busy schedule to have a real praise session with the Lord! Lift up your hands to Him. Welcome His Spirit in. Let’s worship Jesus.
We can go from praise and worship (giving thanks) to murmuring and complaining about as fast as a Koenigsegg Gemera goes from zero to 60 mph. That’s the world’s quickest production car that hits the 0-60 mph mark within 1.9 seconds.
The Hebrews sang great songs of praise following their mighty deliverance from Egypt. The next minute they were murmuring and complaining about their situation.
We’ve got to be more consistent with our praise and giving of thanks to God. It can’t only be when things are going our way. But we should give thanks to God when everything is good.
That wasn’t always the case in the New Testament. Remember the 10 lepers who Jesus healed? Only one returned to give thanks at Jesus’ feet.
I want to thank someone who does something good for me. Maybe they brought me pizza, made hash browns, washed the car, helped me at work, etc.
To put it into perspective, Jesus is our escape route from eternity lost. He was God in the flesh who gave His life for us. How much more should we be thanking Him? Constantly.
The one healed leper who returned to worship Jesus was a stranger — or a Gentile.
Malachi 1:11 reads, “For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Psalm 113:3 adds, “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised.”
Praise and thanksgiving come from the heart and a real experience with God. Life’s circumstances shouldn’t change our thanksgiving.
Hebrews 13:15 states, “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”
We don’t want to be fair-weather worshipers of God.
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” – I Thessalonians 5:18
We don’t want to be like some in the Old Testament who grumbled against God when the going got tough. Their murmuring and complaining was their downfall.
Romans 1:21 reads, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
God has been so good. Give thanks with a grateful heart! His presence will inhabit a heart of praise!
