Pet of the Week: Wendy
The Bark in the Park was not only a complete success, but everyone enjoyed perfect weather and a fun day for all. The event yielded $11,000, and that will go a long way to take care of the current residents at the shelter and those constant new arrivals.
The Alabama National State Fair will be in Montgomery starting October 8. The eighth and fifteenth are shelter days; and if you bring a donation such as canned food, dry food, toys, blankets, etc; you will be able to get into the fair for half price, usually $10, but with a donation of some kind for animals it is $5. A really good cause if you are a fair going person.
Wendy is the featured adoptable pet of the week, and I think this one is a beauty; she is mostly white with some pretty tan on her face and ears, and it looks like a person has done an eye-liner job on her to make her even more attractive. She is 6 months old (the perfect age to begin training) and about 35 pounds, and won’t get much bigger. She is the perfect size for most family house dogs. Wendy is a sweet and fun gal, eager to please, very playful, loves toys, and will do well with an active owner.
Adoption fees are still $100 for dogs and include mandatory neuter/spay, rabies shot, basic vaccinations, microchip, de-worming, and a free check-up at your local vet. Please contact the shelter first for an application; once that is approved, you can have a time set to visit the animals, and possibly take Wendy home with you.
Take care of your fur babies, and leave plenty of water.
Until next week,
The Dog Lover
