Shirley J. Reagan
Funeral service for Shirley J. Reagan, 76, of Goodwater, will be Friday, August 6, 2021, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Pastor Tony Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 6, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.
Shirley passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Adams Health and Rehab. She was born on April 5, 1945, in Roberta, Georgia, to Bruce and Virginia Cook Reagan. Shirley loved her family dearly. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with them. She loved to sing and enjoyed gospel and classic country. Shirley had a wonderful sense of humor and would always speak what was on her mind.
She is survived by her son, Barry Hammonds of Sylacauga; daughter, Angelique Cantrell (Jason) of Springville; grandchildren, Dylan Hammonds, Kelsey Ryan (Andy), and Kaylie Cantrell; great-grandson, Banks Ryan; sisters, Mary Louise Parker (Ray), Gaynell Hammonds (Donnie), and Rosie Dorough (Charlie); and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Reagan; and sisters, Betty Jo Page, Paula Watts and Rita Wethington.

Oreatha “Rea” Marbury Whetstone
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Oreatha “Rea” Marbury Whetstone was held July 12, 2021, at Paradise Mission Full Gospel Church in Goodwater with Rev. Michael Strong officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Memorial Garden in Goodwater.
Mrs. Oreatha Whetstone was born on August 9, 1947, to the late Christine Burton Marbury and Sammie Lee Marbury Sr. Mrs. Oreatha entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 5, 2021.
Mrs. Whetstone was united with Kellyton Chapel United Methodist Church, Kellyton. She continued in her faith and love for others throughout her life. She had a career at Russell Corporation for 50 years until she decided to retire. She loved her family and welcomed everyone. She enjoyed baking, playing bingo, watching westerns and game shows, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Oreatha Whetstone was preceded in death by her parents, Christine Burton Marbury and Sammy Lee Marbury Sr.; and loving daughter Angela Marbury.
Mrs. Oreatha Whetstone leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Shelly Whetstone; her loving granddaughter, Andrea Davida Morgan; her two brothers, Sammy Lee (Carolyn) Marbury Jr. and Donald Ray (Lubecca) Marbury Sr.; her dear best friend, Elsie Tuck; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Whetstone and Mitchelene Freeman; three brothers-in-law, Alton (Lisa) Whetstone, Anthony (Liz) Whestone and Delandfort (Carmen) Whetstone; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Final arrangements were entrusted to Armour’s Memorial Services.
