The Gospel Truth
Give the Lord thanks
In the book of I Thessalonians 5:18 it teaches us to “Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
For many this is easier said than done, because many have not come to understand God’s will. We have been told time after time to thank the Lord for the bad times because it helps us to appreciate the good times.
We also have heard, “If it wasn’t for bad luck, I would have no luck at all.”
When it comes to God, luck has nothing to do with it.
It is by the grace of God that He allowed us to experience these things that happen in our lives. The Bible teaches that in everything there is a season.
We go through seasons of drought, and then we go through seasons of rain. But in every season, we should give the Lord thanks.
Every situation that we face is the will of God for our lives.
There are rainy days, cloudy days, and there are sunny days, but whatever the case is we must give the Lord thanks.
God knows what’s better for us than we do, so we might as well be thankful in all things. We cannot change the will that God has for our lives.
There are some days that the will of God for our lives is to go through pain and heartaches.
Then there may be days when His will for us is to rain down joy upon us.
But whether it be pain and heartaches or raining down joy in our lives we must continue to give the Lord thanks.
We must take the bitter with the sweet.
In other words, accept the bad things as well as the good things that happen.
This just might be the will of God for your life.
So, in all things give the Lord thanks.
