Joyce N. Gipson
Memorial service for Mrs. Joyce N. Gipson, 79, of Alexander City, was Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. James H. Heath officiated.
Mrs. Gipson passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on September 27, 1941, in Alexander City to Hilary Floyd Newberry and Esta Conaway Newberry. She was a devoted charter member of Kellyton Church of God. Joyce was a faithful loving wife. She enjoyed traveling with her husband taking cruises to places such as Alaska and the Caribbean.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles Raymond Gipson of Alexander City; sisters-in-law, Sandra Newberry, Mary McGuire, Sylvia Gibson (James); brother-in-law, Harold Gipson (Marilyn); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Newberry and Johnny Newberry; half-brother, Bobby McGuire; and half-sister, Gayle Mallory.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff of Chapman’s Healthcare for the wonderful care given to their loved one.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Kellyton Church of God; P.O. Box 218; Kellyton, AL 35089.

Marshall Joe Woodfin
Mr. Marshall Joe Woodfin, 77, of Alexander City, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Russell Medical Center. He was born on February 14, 1944, in Rockford to Roy Woodfin and Birthel Lewis Woodfin.
Mr. Woodfin was a retired Jet Operator in the Tub Room of Russell Corporation where he was known as “Catman.” He loved spending time outdoors, mowing grass and cutting trees.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Woodfin; son, Clifford Roy Woodfin; stepdaughters, Stormy Dempster (Colin) and Windy Nesti (Anthony); grandchildren, Dylan Hearn, Devan Hearn, Alyssa Torgerson, Braxton Torgerson, Layla Nesti, Lindsay Dempster, and Madison Dempster; great-grandchildren, Sophia Dempster and Trevor Hearn; sisters, Alice W. Guice, Margaret Harp and Mildred Bradford; and brother, Emmett Woodfin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
