A giant in the land
In the book of Samuel, it speaks of a giant named Goliath.
He was big and tall in stature. People were fearful of him because of who he was. Fear swept across the land because of this giant Goliath.
A small boy named David with his sling and five smooth stones defeated and destroyed this great giant.
A giant does not have to be big in stature to be feared. A giant can be small, but destructive.
One year ago, our country was invaded by a pandemic giant in the form of a virus called COVID-19. This giant has caused many lives to be lost in death.
Many are left with fear of being infected by this great giant called COVID-19.
Like David, God allowed him to have five smooth stones to defeat the giant. We, too, have been given five things from God. God gave us eyes to see, ears to hear, a nose to smell, hands to touch, and a tongue to taste.
We use our eyes to see the goodness of God. Our ears are for hearing the word of God. Our nose diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. Our hands touch His creation. Then we can taste and see that the Lord is good.
This virus has invaded our land long enough.
You can do nothing and be attacked, or you can take the vaccine as a way to stand against this giant.
