How do you know God is real?
That specific question has been asked repeatedly by people who don’t know God to those who do know Him.
My obvious response stems from my relationship with God. Only God could do the work in me that He has done.
The absolute changes that occurred in me when I called on Jesus Christ through faith are real! I know that for a fact!
We have now entered the fall season. Trees are giving off beautiful colors, and leaves are falling.
I saw this message on a reader board at a church while I was actually traveling to church last Sunday. “It’s time to turn over a new leaf.”
The message conveyed that people need to come to God by Jesus Christ for a born-again experience. Jesus told Nicodemus that wind can’t be detected by mere sight.
However, there is a tangible result from wind. For example, you can see the leaves blowing when the wind moves them. Jesus said that is akin to folks being born again of the Spirit.
God works the transformation inside the person when they believe the Gospel, repent and are converted. Though people cannot witness what God did inside the person, they most definitely observe the character change.
One prime example is the man named Legion who was full of the devil. An encounter with Jesus resulted in the demons fleeing out of the man.
When the man was under the devil’s influence, he roamed the graveyard, cut himself with stones and walked around without clothes on.
But after his experience with Jesus, the people marveled when they saw the man clothed and in his right mind.
If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away, and new and much better things from God are evident.
Paul went from Saul to Paul through a quick and miraculous encounter with Jesus. He was converted to Christ Jesus and did an immediate 180-degree turnaround. Rather than having Christians bound, tortured and put to death, Saul became Paul and began preaching what he once opposed.
Those types of turnarounds are reserved only for Jesus. Nobody else could change someone like that. Paul was transformed from the power of darkness to the greater power of God’s light.
Galatians 1:13,23 explain it this way: “For ye have heard of my conversation in times past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it. …But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.”
There are so many testimonies of God’s hand in a Christian’s life. Those who are born again can testify of the changes God has made in them, along with the numerous acts of God toward them. There is no doubt those things could only come from God.
One facet involves God’s physical provision for His people. If we’re faithful to God, He will always meet our needs. God sometimes puts us in positions where we need to rely on His provision.
That way, we can testify of how God came through again and again.
If we have been faithful in tithes and offerings, God will provide our every need.
“Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” (Malachi 3:8,10)
Last month, I received less pay than normal, and I was wondering how God would supply for my family. We have been faithful in our giving to God, and it gave me confidence that God would come through.
I prayed, and the provision arrived through an unlikely source. To God be the glory.
