Special to the News
Congratulations to the Pride of Coosa County band who received the Best in Class trophies in both the band category and visual category at last Saturday’s Sparks in the Park Marching Invitational hosted at Spain Park High School in Hoover.
The following sections all received a score of 1, which is a Superior rating, the highest possible score: drum major, Tatum Larrabee; colorguard, Madison Hamilton (captain), Miranda Adams, Ada-Mae Barnett, Elizabeth Clark, Shermanee Cox, Helen Diehm, and Erica Norman; and percussion, Ezekiel Dailey, Lukas Lackey, Alex Latham, Kimberly Parris, Jordyn Villigrana, DeVayne Whetstone, and the overall band.
Thank you to color guard sponsor Katie Martin and band director Daryl Ingram for the countless hours you dedicate to our students from summer band camps, to after school practices, to fundraising, to Friday night games, and returning early Saturday mornings to head to competition. We are so proud that the fruits of your and the band students’ labor are paying off. Thank you to Justine Clark for sharing pictures.
Come support the Pride of Coosa County Marching Cougars as they head to the Lake Martin Invitational band competition this Saturday, tomorrow, at the Sportplex in Alexander City at 1 p.m.
