Ruby Johnson
Some questions were asked about Ruby Johnson. Let me answer some of them.
I was born Ruby Jo Johnson. I married a man for 50 years who was a Johnson (now deceased). That’s what “Johnson” is all about.
A statement was made, “Ruby must like white people.” I love all people. I love “love.” God is “love.”
Let me display my love and concerning white people, growing up in a Black home I was taught only love. When I was growing up I loved baby dolls, and then there were only white baby dolls, and I loved and learned what love was all about, loving my white baby dolls. Love was all in my heart when Black dolls came about.
I have love for white people as I do Black people. My mother taught me “love” and not “color.” My mother had so much love within herself. The love we desire is already within us.
Some Blacks would not buy their girls white dolls at Christmas, although my mother did for me, and I thank her still today, and I still have that love for all people.
God is love. That is where we must begin. We cannot expect to have a loving relationship with our family, mate, or children until we heal our individual relationship with God. That is why there is so much hate and racism in the world today.
In the ancient traditions of people of color, all life was centered around the force and its elements. Our ancestors had a wholesome respect for the creator and all creations. They honored the earth for support, the sun for the life force and themselves as expressions of creation.
Today to relate to one another’s ego, we want to please one another because of who we are or what we have. We want to fulfill our needs. We demoralize ourselves and one another for what we believe is love.
God is love. That’s it. God does not have needs. God does not argue. God does not make threats. God does not deal with rejection.
The only thing God does is love you, and that is the only reason we are here.
Happy birthday to Union Square’s sweet lady Joyce Taylor, Sheriff Michael Howell, my niece Tammy Goggans, Police Chief Corey Shaw, and to all August born.
Prayers go up for Union Square’s Pastor Ray Frankln and wife, Lady Amy Franklin; Lady Rochelle Smith; Fred May; Joyce Taylor; and all loved ones under the weather; Bessie Leonard; and Kim Hill.
“Relationships can reflect the threats of ego or the divinity of love.”
“Your ego can strangle the presence of love.”
