Emanie Simone Desirae Brascom
Special to the News
On Wednesday, August 12, Emanie Simone Desirae Brascom, an Alabama Department of Corrections correctional security guard at Ventress Correctional Facility, was arrested on contraband charges.
The arrest is the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation that began in June. It was determined
that Brascom was conspiring with an ADOC inmate at Ventress to introduce contraband into ADOC
facilities.
ADOC Narcotic and LESD agents arrested Brascom in Clayton, Ala., on an outstanding warrant for third-degree conspiracy to promote prison contraband. She was further charged with second-degree conspiracy to promote prison contraband.
Brascom was taken into custody without incident and transported to county jail for processing. She has resigned from her position at ADOC.
The ADOC remains committed to maintaining the safety, security, and integrity of its correctional
facilities. Allegations of criminal activity involving employees, contractors, or inmates are thoroughly
investigated, and those found to have violated the law will be held accountable.
