A rare milestone will be reached on Tuesday as Coosa County’s own Irene Beasley will celebrate her 105th birthday.
Born on June 23, 1921, Ms. Beasley will be celebrating 10-and-a-half decades of life in Coosa County. One of nine children, Beasley was born on June 23, 1921, in Coosa County and has resided in the Bradford community near Kellyton her entire life.
Her family has enjoyed encouraging others to send birthday cards for this special birthday. They were in hopes of her receiving 105 cards this year, and her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Beasley, was pleased to report that so far they are on track to exceed that goal.
She said that Beasley, known as “MaRene” to most people, has loved reading her cards and trying to figure out the various connections. She has even received cards that were sent by friends from as far away as Alaska and London.
Rhonda Beasley shares, “This has made going to the mailbox so much fun for her!”
Ms. Beasley’s family is truly appreciative of everyone who has taken time to send her a card to celebrate her birthday.
Over the years Beasley has been actively involved in her community and Bradford Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and led singing for many years.
Family and church are very important parts of Ms. Beasley’s life. Rhonda said that Ms. Irene lives for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She has three grandsons, one granddaughter and 10 great-grandchildren.
A longtime loyal subscriber to “The Coosa County News,” Beasley continues to look forward to and enjoy her newspaper every week.
Her friends at “The Coosa County News” join her family and friends in celebrating her remarkable life and wishing her a joyous and happy 105th birthday.
