A Goodwater man and woman were arrested late last month as a result of a report from the Department of Human Resources.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on December 22, DHR representatives contacted the Sheriff’s Office Investigations to inform them of drug tests performed on Toney Hall Sr. and family.
The tests were positive for cocaine, marijuana and benzoylecgonine, the primary metabolite of cocaine which indicates recent cocaine use.
Specifically, Hall Sr. tested positive for marijuana, Barbara Watkins tested positive for cocaine and marijuana, and two juveniles both tested positive for marijuana.
After interviews and investigations, on December 30 43-year-old Hall Sr. and 36-year-old Watkins, both of Goodwater, were arrested and charged with chemical endangerment of a child.
The bond for each was set at $7,500, and both were released on bond on December 31 to await trial.
Note: A mug shot for Watkins was not available as of press time. Hall’s mug shot was available from his November 17 arrest on the charge of third-degree domestic violence.
