Christopher Wayne Gordy
An out-of-county man and woman were arrested Saturday on multiple drug charges.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on January 3 Deputy Kelley was dispatched to a possible burglary in progress. When he and Deputy Payton arrived at the scene, they came in contact with a vehicle.
Both individuals in the vehicle were detained, and deputies discovered that both of them had outstanding warrants with other agencies.
While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, deputies recovered a glass case with a glass pipe containing residue, as well as an orange pill bottle with no name on it that contained a baggy of a green leafy substance that smelled like marijuana.
Deputies also retrieved two clear baggies containing a white crystal-like substance.
At that time 55-year-old Rose Marie Harrison Josey of Talladega was arrested on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, second-degree possession of marijuana and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
Christopher Wayne Gordy; 53 years old, of Anniston; was also arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and giving false identification to law enforcement officers.
Josey’s total bond for all three charges was set at $10,000, and Gordy’s total bond for all four charges was set at $12,500. As of press time both remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
Anyone who observes or suspects illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
Note: Josey’s mug shot was not available as of press time. Gordy’s mug shot was available from a local 2022 arrest for failure to appear.
