A routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of an Anniston man on a marijuana possession charge late last month.
On December 30, Deputy Kelley was on patrol on U.S. Highway 280 when he observed a vehicle with a traffic violation. Kelley initiated a traffic stop, and as the vehicle was stopping he observed a clear object being thrown out of the passenger side of the vehicle.
The driver was ultimately detained. During an on-scene investigation, Kelley found the object and discovered it was a clear bottle containing marijuana roaches that had been thrown out of the vehicle.
That same day 21-year-old Kamron Jamar Sandlin was arrested and charged with second-degree possession of marijuana.
His bond was set at $2,500, and he was released on bond the same day to await trial.
