The Central Cougars faced off against the Saks Wildcats for their Homecoming game, and it seemed like the Wildcats did not have a chance.
The Cougars led in the first quarter with a score of 8 to 6 after #1 Javon Thomas had a 60-yard kick off return for a touchdown. But it was in the second quarter that the Cougars packed on the points with #12, ninth grader Waylon Chapman-Allen, throwing a 55-yard pass to #0 Corey Thompson for a touchdown, taking the score going into halftime to 38-13, with a final score of 46-19.
The Cougars are on the road to Loachapoka Thursday for a region game as the paper goes to press. Although it is a Thursday game with an hour travel time, the Central crowd is expected to be large as the Cougars are looking to keep their momentum going as they head to Loachapoka with a 2-0 record for the region. Go Cougars!
