Carrie Tuck
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Carrie Tuck was helf Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel in Alexander City with Pastor Kenny Jackson serving as eulogist. Interment followed at Elam #2 Baptist Church Cemetery in Kellyton.
Mrs. Carrie (Brown) Tuck, better known to family and friends as “Carrie B,” was born to Coolidge and Willie Mae Brown in Coosa County on September 29, 1953. She joined First Baptist Church in Rockford at an early age, where she served faithfully as an adult choir member and a matron. She was a member of the Morning Star District Center Choir during their annual convention and an area missionary choir member on St. James AME (Goodwater) Missionary Day.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Minister Spencer Tuck on September 27, 1997. Upon graduating from J.D. Thompson High School in Cottage Grove in 1971, she began working at Russell Mills Plant #1 in Alexander City as a seamstress until her retirement in 1998. After retiring she became a poll worker and poll inspector for Coosa County (Rockford precinct) on election days.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Minister Spencer Tuck; a sister, Joyce Leonard; brothers, Wesley Brown, Master Brown and Bennie Brown; brothers-in-law, Adolphus “Dot” Leonard, Pastor Larry Tuck, Gregory Tuck, and Jimmy Tuck; mother-in-law, Mattie Love Tuck; and father-in-law, Leroy Tuck.
Carrie entered into eternal rest on December 3, 2024, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, two sons, Terrance “Tee” Pope of Rockford and Roderick (Shaunterrica) Hicks of Alexander City; one brother, Johnny Brown (Olivia Carter) of Huntsville; five sisters-in-law, Debra Boddie, Minister Brenda (Apostle Wayne) Davis, Cornelia Tuck, and Elaine Tuck, all of Kellyton, and Jackie (Randall) Birmingham of Alexander City; one brother-in-law, Jeffery (Felicia) Tuck of Rockford; a special niece, Arlinda (Kelvin) Hubbard of Alexander City; a dear friend, Cynthia “Chat” Lee of Rockford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
