In My Humble Opinion
Jodi McDade
This is going to be a difficult column to write. There are things going on in our world that we all need to be deeply concerned about. As a Christian, I understand the importance of Israel and the Jewish people in what the End Times will be.
These are God’s chosen people, and He will protect them at all costs. Anyone raising a hand against Israel will be dealt with by God Himself. Those who stand with Israel will receive God’s protection. I’m not saying that the End is here, but I am saying it’s closer than it’s ever been.
I have watched as our country has walked away from our religious foundation for the last 40-plus years. The Bible and prayer were taken out of the schools, churches sold out to the government in turn for a tax-exempt status, socialism started creeping into our colleges and universities – and now into education beginning in pre-K. The threats made in the 18-1900s have come true so slowly that most people never noticed.
The first threat came from the “Communist Manifesto” published in 1848 by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. It spelled out the gradual reform that would finally result in spreading Communism to the world. This would be done by moving everything to be controlled by the government – education, healthcare, transportation, and production. Private property would be eliminated, and inheritance rights would be denied. The takeover would start in Europe and gradually spread.
Here in the United States the takeover was part of the Progressive Movement and President Woodrow Wilson in the 1913 election. This is also when the Democratic Party began its move from its racist past to become the “party of the people” using the tenets of Communism as a guide. Do any of the goals set out above sound familiar and, if so, which political party has led the way?
Now what we are seeing are the fruits of the Progressive Movement. The takeover of the education system was the first step, and it was completed when President Jimmy Carter instituted the U.S. Department of Education that incorporated all public schools under the control of the government. The colleges and universities had already been taken over – especially the ones who offered degrees in education to train the new teachers coming along. Again, this took time and patience because only a few students fell for the ideology in the beginning, but it gained speed starting in the 1950-60s.
Those “fruits” I mentioned above are the anti-American/Jewish sentiment we now see on the major campuses around the country since the attack on Israel on October 7 – and it’s growing daily. We have a generation of young people who have not been brought up with any religious education, understanding of respect for all people, and have been taught that America is totally racist and that capitalism is wrong. Yes, I DO know there are some young people who have survived without falling for all this, but they had strong parental involvement and/or private education.
Watching media interviews with regular people on the street shows the vast ignorance most people have about anything not related to sports or entertainment. They have no idea of who the leaders of the country are or what is going on around the world. This is why our government is in the mess it’s in now – UNEDUCATED VOTERS. People vote based on the political party their family has believed in for years, not realizing that the Democrats and Republicans have totally switched since the Civil War. It’s been so gradual people didn’t notice and won’t believe anything else.
We have gone from a country that welcomed immigrants from other countries based on what they could contribute to open borders where we welcome anyone and everyone to come in and be supported by the taxpayers. We have gone from a country that understood and followed the Constitution/Bill of Rights to a country who doesn’t even ask people to learn to speak English. We are now giving full rights and freedom to people who just stroll across our border from who knows where, while our own citizens are being denied their rights and freedoms. AND this includes voting rights! We have people serving in our government who were not born in this country but came in as REFUGEES. They take their oath of office not on our Bible, but on their Koran – are they pledging their lives to America or to their home country?
And now I will address the absolute disaster the federal government is in because the Republican Party cannot come together to elect a speaker of the house. They allowed themselves to be put in a situation where one person could disrupt the operation of the House of Representatives.
While I am disgusted with this, I am also glad to see that the Republicans don’t just follow the leader and do as they are told like the majority of Democrats. Of course, now the Democrats are having problems with the small group of “outlaws” in their party. Discourse is good; discussion is good; compromise is necessary. And a functioning government is REQUIRED – especially with what is going on in Israel and that part of the world. Our country is being threatened along with the Jewish people and the Promised Land. We need to be prepared and united.
The best thing I have been seeing this past week are the major donors of many of the colleges and universities who are pulling their money and support from the schools who are allowing the anti-Jewish and American protests. Maybe they will move their support to non-government schools where students can get a real education.
Please pray not only for Israel and the Jewish people, but also for the innocent Palestinians who are being used as pawns and for the United States of America where we have lost our way.
