Beginning with the first college football games in early September for this 2021 season, college football fans everywhere began to exercise their First Amendment right to criticize our president, by chanting together, “F#%k Joe Biden.” That alone has gone viral and has spread to any event where a body of people may gather.
On the evening of October 2, 2021, at the Talladega Superspeedway, NASCAR driver Brandon Brown had just won the race. NBC reporter Kelli Stavast was doing a live interview with the winner when she commented that the crowd seemed to be chanting, “Let’s go, Brandon!” Unfortunately, the crowd was very clearly addressing President Biden, and not Brandon Brown, and they were not chanting “Let’s go, Brandon,” but instead chanting “F#%k Joe Biden!” …It is open to debate whether Stavast misheard the crowd or was attempting to cover the profanity that could be heard in the background of her interview, but “Let’s go, Brandon” has now also gone viral!
President Biden’s approval rating was highest at 55% just two days after being sworn in, and now, after 300 days in office, his approval rating has dipped down to 32% and is the lowest since he took office. It is no wonder because of his many inept responses to crisis, from the shut-down of the keystone pipeline, to the COVID-19 shut-down, the miserably failed withdrawal from Afghanistan, the southern border crisis, rampant inflation, and the current supply-chain backlog.
With all of these failures, people everywhere are exercising their First Amendment right to criticize our president, with either actual chants of “F#%k Joe Biden” or the less offensive, and now viral, “Let’s go, Brandon!” It’s happening at both professional and college football games, at races and just about anywhere where a large crowd may gather, even in shopping mall food courts.
There is also a song by rapper Loza Alexander that is based on the anti-Biden chant “Let’s go, Brandon!” That song has soared up the charts and currently sits at Number 1 on the iTunes hip-hop chart. Alexander sings the tune, aptly titled “Let’s go, Brandon.” In the song’s choruses, a voice repeatedly chants the iconic anti-Biden mantra and is immediately followed by a sample of a crowd chanting the original line, the more rough-and-ready “F#%k Joe Biden.”
If the numbers are true, Joe Biden was the most popular person to ever be elected president, obviously receiving even more votes than former President Donald Trump, who garnered the second highest vote count in history, with both of them smashing the totals received by Barrack Obama in 2008 and 2012.
Nonetheless, Joe Biden is also the oldest person ever elected to be president of the United States, and he is now showing obvious signs of cognitive disability. The fact that he’s only been in office for 10 months and has already steered our nation toward a dystopian death-spiral is frightening to many (think of what happened to the people of Venezuela after they elected Hugo Chavez as their president in 1999.). The thought that there is still another 38 months left in his term as the forty-sixth president of the United States is practically terrifying. …This is NOT the kind of frights that I was looking for as Halloween looms less than two weeks away!
So I ask you as a voter to remember this question when the elections of 2022 and 2024 come around: “Are your current circumstances better, or worse, since Joe Biden managed to become the president of these United States?” …Then consider what a pro-constitutional, small government, balanced budget, pro-individual liberty Libertarian could do if elected, and then please vote appropriately, but never forget: “LET’S GO, BRANDON!”
