Wait on the Lord
In the book of Isaiah it tells us, “They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.”
Many of us in our lives have a problem when it comes to waiting on the Lord. But yet we have no problem when it comes to waiting on a flight, even if you have to sit and wait in the airport for hours.
Another thing that we have no problem waiting on is an income tax return. You will wait on an income tax return for weeks at a time.
The reason why you have no problem waiting on a flight, or an income tax return, is because we know that eventually it will come to pass. Our confidence is so great that we have no problem waiting for these to come.
We should have that same expectancy when it comes to waiting on the Lord as we do a flight or an income tax return.
Waiting on other things does not renew our strength, but waiting on the Lord does. It is when we can wait on the Lord that our strength can be renewed.
Another point of waiting upon the Lord that we see in scripture is the idea of expectancy. We are expecting the Lord to move on our behalf.
Waiting upon the Lord means expecting Him to act. And how does the Lord act towards those He has set His eternal love upon?
We should expect in faith that our Lord, who has already delivered us from sin, will also deliver us from our troubles.
We should be living a life of obedience to the Lord.
In His timing, He will open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that you want to have room enough to receive it.
So, today wait in expectation and confidence that the Lord is going to do for you what He said.
