The Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) congratulates the Republican nominees who secured victories in Tuesday’s special congressional primary election.
The winners will represent the Republican Party in Congressional Districts 1, 2, 6, and 7 in the November general election.
U.S. Congress Congressional District 1 – Jerry Carl
U.S. Congress Congressional District 2 – Rhett Marques
U.S. Congress Congressional District 6 – Gary Palmer
U.S. Congress Congressional District 7 – Ammie Akin
With the special congressional primaries complete, Alabama Republicans are turning their focus to November. ALGOP Chair Scott Stadthagen said the party is united behind its congressional nominees and ready to put its grassroots strength to work across the state.
Stadthagen pointed to the strength of the Republican ticket and said the party is prepared to compete in every congressional district while standing firmly for conservative Alabama values.
Stadthagen released the following statement:
“The results of the special congressional primaries have given us an all-star team of nominees and set the table for Republicans to sweep every district in the general election.
“Despite the best efforts of federal judges who put their thumbs on the scales of justice and rigged our maps in favor of the socialist Democrats they support, Republicans across the state stand ready to right those judicial wrongs at the ballot box.
“The [Democratic] candidates running for congressional seats and their gubernatorial nominee, Doug Jones, embrace the values of liberal extremist states like Massachusetts, California and New York, while our entire Republican slate stands tall for commonsense, conservative Alabama values.
“The Alabama Republican Party grassroots team stands ready to knock on every door, put a sign in every yard and put in the hard work required to elect the ALGOP ticket from top to bottom in November.”
