A man from the Ray community was arrested last Monday after allegedly shooting into a vehicle.
On July 6, deputies responded to Ray community for a report of shots fired at a vehicle parked at a residence. Upon their arrival, they met with the victim, who showed them where a window had been shot out of the vehicle.
Deputies then made contact with the suspect. Upon talking with the suspect, he advised deputies that he had a high-power pellet rifle, which the deputies proceeded to confiscate.
During the investigation deputies also found that fragments of pellets were located inside the vehicle.
Jerry Lee Carroll, 60 years old, was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle and second-degree criminal mischief.
His total bond was set at $12,500. As of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
