Trespasser at Ventress leads to two contraband arrests

Last Friday, June 19, a trespasser was reported at Ventress Correctional Facility.
ADOC K-9 was notified and responded to the area, and the suspect was discovered with a black backpack. He was taken into custody without incident and identified as Horace Henry Ellis Jr.
The investigation led to the traffic stop of a blue Hyundai Tucson. The Barbour County Sheriff’s
Office was instrumental in this operation.
The driver was identified as Zantoria Drinkard. She was taken into custody and transported to the LESD K-9 office at Ventress.
Confiscated contraband:
- 194 grams of marijuana
- 26 grams of cocaine
- 13 cell phones
Both suspects were arrested, transported to the Barbour County Jail and charged with conspiracy to
commit a controlled substance crime, possession with intent to distribute and promoting prison
contraband in the first and second degree.
