A man from the Stewartville area was arrested earlier this month on an escape charge.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on June 8, the Sheriff’s Office received a call about an individual at Farm Ministries with an escape charge.
Sgt. Rudd responded to Farm Ministries in Stewartville. Ultimately Richard William Zahner, 54 years old, was arrested and charged with third-degree escape.
After being booked into the Coosa County Jail, he was released back to the originating law enforcement agency that same day.
