Central athletes and their families were invited to the annual Athletic Banquet to recognize the accomplishments of our athletes.
Athletic Director Deborah Phillips opened the program with a welcome, and Student Government Association president Meori Smith led the attendees in the “Pledge of Allegiance” and blessing. Principal Brandi Lee recognized our Scholar Athletes who not only excel athletically, but also academically. Athletes and their families enjoyed a meal and fellowship as each of the sports recognized their respective athletes.
The newest athletic programs at Central, dance and track, were added to the program this year. In addition, everyone was excited to hear during Superintendent of Education David Stover’s closing remarks that there were plans underway to add both wrestling and fishing programs. He reiterated that Coosa County Schools is always striving to provide more opportunities for our students.
Many of the coaches also acknowledged the contributions of parents who go above and beyond to support our athletic programs through their volunteer service.
Although it was a night for our athletes’ accomplishments to shine, we want to thank all our coaches who worked to prepare recognition items for their athletes and all the time they put into our athletes throughout the year. Cougar Pride!
