Fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, and firearms were seized from a Kellyton residence during the recent execution of a search warrant.

On Friday, February 27, the Coosa County SRT, Coosa County deputies and investigators, and officers from Rockford Police Department and Goodwater Police Department conducted a search warrant in the Kellyton community.
During the search warrant fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, and firearms were located and seized from the residence.
Brian Alan Black; 56 years old, of Kellyton; was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, two counts of distribution of dangerous drugs, first-degree possession of marijuana, certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Kecia Marie Kenney; 40 years old, of Kellyton; was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Kenney’s bond was set at $2,500, and she was released on bond the same day to await trial.
Black’s total bond for all six charges was set at $100,000. He was released on bond March 2 to await trial.
Sheriff Michael Howell stated, “I want to personally commend the outstanding work of my deputies and Special Response Team and the officers from Rockford and Goodwater who assisted with the execution of the recent search warrant. Their professionalism, preparation and commitment to duty resulted in the successful seizure of illegal narcotics that were being distributed in our community.”
“Operations like this require courage, teamwork and attention to detail,” he added. “I am proud of the way they carried out this investigation and enforcement action. Their efforts have made our neighborhoods safer and disrupted criminal activity that harms families in our county. On behalf of this office and the citizens we serve, I thank each officer involved for their dedication and service.”
