Central Elementary Beginner Band and Central High School Concert Band recently performed their Spring Concert under the direction of Darryl Ingram.
The concert was emceed by the band booster president and parent, April Stokes. Mrs. Stokes started by introducing the Beginner Band who played three songs for family and friends, “Bingo,” “Blackbeard” and “Power Rock.”
Mrs. Stokes then introduced the Concert Band who played six selections, including “Fury of the Gods,” “American Salute,” “Cyclone,” “Carry on my Wayward Son,” and “The Pink Panther.”
The night was bittersweet for our senior band members as it was their final performance after years of dedication to the Pride of Coosa County band.
Roderick Graham has been a member of the concert band for six years and will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design to major in gaming.
Corrie Haynes has been a member of both the marching and concert band for seven years, served as the drum major and will be attending Faulkner University to major in music education.
Micheal Thomas has also been in both marching and concert band for seven years and will be serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Congratulations to all our seniors; we are proud of your accomplishments and are excited about your bright futures.
Mrs. Stokes closed out the evening by thanking Mr. Ingram and all the parents who have been instrumental in supporting their students’ band program, particularly in the concession stand during home football games. We are looking forward to another great season.
