Remembering Brent Watts

Union Square News
Ruby Johnson

Our prayers go out to the families of Mr. Brent Watts, who was a very special fellow and the son of very special parents, Mr. Michael and Mrs. Debra Watts, and also my step-son-in-love. I loved Brent like my son, and he loved me as another mom. Anywhere I saw him and Pat, it was, “Hi, Mom,” with big smiles and kisses, the same when they visited me.

We all will miss Brent, but knowing he is free from pain, sorrows, trials, and trouble makes us receive joy.

His home-going was special as he was, held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Titus and officiated by Pastor Grady Cook Sr., preaching from II Samuel 12:18-20. How do you handle the pain, and what do you do? Worship helps turn our pain into joy.

Worship comes in many forms, not just singing and praising in church. It’s personal with God, and sometimes quiet time with Him at home or in church, encouraging others, etc. Worship should be in spirit and truth.

Welcome to Black History Month with some heroes of Coosa County working for the Lord to help build God’s kingdom: Pastor Bobby Montgomery, Lt. Minister Bradgel Moon, Pastor Joey Belyeu, Minister LaJerrell Hill, and many others.

God is using these young men of Coosa County like never before, although they are working for God more than just in Coosa County. All of them are heroes, and don’t you forget that! We are very proud of all of them.

Union Square is proud of our Union Square girls of the month, Kaylyn and Ophelia Gould, who made the A/B Honor Roll, and for Rockford’s D’Ambri Lee, Alex William and Micah Parsons, and others. I cannot name them all, but they know who they are. We are proud of you, too!

Happy birthday to all February babies.

Praying for all under-the-weather loved ones.

“You cannot be who you are going to be and who you used to be at the same time!”

“All snakes do not crawl. Some sit in church.”

“You can change the space, not the world.”
