A Dadeville man was arrested last month on a drug-related and paraphernalia charge following a traffic stop.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on November 16, Deputy Dawson was on routine patrol on U.S. Highway 280 when he passed a vehicle that appeared to have vehicle violations.
Dawson turned around and conducted a traffic stop. While he was talking to the driver, Deputy Payton and K-9 Archie pulled up by them for possible assistance.
Payton and Archie proceeded to conduct a free air sniff, at which time K-9 Archie alerted on the vehicle.
Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and found 142.2 grams of marijuana in the vehicle, along with a grinder and glass pipe.
The driver, 52-year-old Travis Scott Huggins of Dadeville, was arrested November 16 and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $7,500, and he was released on bond on November 19 to await trial.
