On Monday, September 30, the Narcotics and K-9 units of the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) Law Enforcement Services Division (LESD) and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants at the residence of James and Sophia Chambers in Cullman County.
James Chambers is a former employee at Limestone Correctional Facility.
The search yielded approximately 1.4 pounds of methamphetamine, approximately 1.5 pounds of marijuana, five firearms, and 10 drones.
Both suspects were transported to the Cullman County Jail and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, first-degree possession of marijuana, and more charges are pending.
Further investigation resulted in the arrest of former Limestone Correctional Officer Becca Marsh. ADOC agents confiscated approximately 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine at her residence.
She was transported to the Limestone County Jail and charged with use of official position for personal
gain.
The LESD investigation is ongoing, and further charges are pending.
“Stopping the flow of illegal contraband into ADOC facilities is critical to reducing drug abuse, overdoses and inmate violence,” said Commissioner John Q. Hamm.
