Union Square News

Fall season is approaching, but it seems to me it is another type of season, a season of sorrow in many ways.
Misunderstanding, hatefulness and jealousy in communities, homes, families, churches, and many other places, and that’s not what God wants and loves. We all have different views, ideas and opinions, different in skin colors. However, we are more alike than different. When God made man He also made woman. We all breathe the same air while living or just existing. We all eat, sleep, hurt, and cry sometimes.
I am hurting and crying right now. I lost more loved ones, my nephew Adolpheus Doc Leonard, neighbor/friend Mrs. Pat Windsor, cousin Billy Belyeu, and others. Also loved ones being sick, in the hospital, nursing homes, etc. Let’s keep Carrie Tuck, Jimmy Tuck, Peggy Crayton, and Wilbert Johnson in prayer.
This season I am facing right now reminds me of one of Ray Charles’ song lyrics, “A rainy night in Georgia, I believe it’s raining all over the world. How many times I’ve wondered, it still comes out the same. No matter how you look at it, think of it, you just got to do your own thing.” (I say pray.)
I believe it’s raining all over the world and not just in Alabama, Union Square where I live. I pray for all who are experiencing this season of sorrow.
Mrs. Jennifer Wessels is on fire for God. She spoke on Sunday, a message that applied to everyone from the book of Mark and I Corinthians 13:11. “A Child-Like Faith” was her topic. We must come to Jesus as a child.
Now there is a difference between child like and childish. When you are a child you do childish things. When you become a man, you mature and act like a man. However, you must always be child like to God.
Great message, Jennifer! You put a smile on my face.
Happy birthday, Lady Phillis Blocker, Asberry Scott, Teasie Thrash, and to all September babies.
Mrs. Lattie Hardy is always on point 100% in her writing, as well as Sean Dietrich. They never cease to amaze me!
Everyone should check out El Vaquero’s restaurant in Rockford, now open on Sundays, seven days a week. Also now serving the best chicken soup with rice and avocado on the side for the fall and winter season, without any sorrow.
